Book NowNeuromuscular Stimulation (Stimpod)
Neuromuscular stimulation (NMS) uses a form of electromagnetic therapy, designed to restore the natural functionality of nerve cells using a non-invasive approach.
The therapy is administered with a pen-like stimulation probe on the skin surface and elicits a light electrical sensation. Whilst as a patient you may feel a slight stinging sensation far more entertaining is the muscle twitches that correspond to the stimulated nerves. It is even possible in many cases, to stimulate activity in areas of muscle wasting and so called “permanent nerve damage” such as with patients’ with a neurological drop foot
At DISC we are only the second clinic in the UK to use the “Stimpod” device which uses its patented Pulsed Radio Frequency waveform to treat peripheral neuropathy and chronic intractable nerve pain such as in cases of sciatica.
Case studies report successful treatment of:
Restoring the Natural Functionality of Nerves
Stimpod NMS460 is designed to regenerate the natural functionality of nerve cells.
The electromagnetic field generated by the device triggers a long-lasting recovery through a metabolic biochemical cascade which targets the root cause of neurologically related diseases.
At DISC our first priority in the case of disc herniations and sciatica, is to calm the source of the pain in the low back, however once that job is under way the emphasis often shifts to the highly inflamed nerve ending further down the leg. NMS gives us a targeted “reset button” for these nerve fibres, whether they be under-actively misfiring or over-actively irritated
The induced electromagnetic field propagates through the skin to the nerves and travels along the axons to the spinal dorsal horn, restoring the intra-neural communication pathways and the natural nerve functionality.
The induced electromagnetic field oscillates at frequencies in the range of the radio spectrum. It propagates as short bursts through the skin to the nerves and travels along the axons to the spinal dorsal horn, restoring the intra-neural communication pathways and the natural nerve functionality.
Studies have shown instant and dramatic relief of chronic intractable pain, including a flagship research program performed by orthopaedic surgeon’s At Guys & st Thomas’ hospital London
The ideal result leads to a long-lasting restoration of the intra-neural communication pathways and the natural nerve functionality. The biological properties of the nerve guide are optimized by the combination of an aligned, protein-rich inner core with a protective outer layer.
The nerves are reconnected,
The functional nerve impulses can be transmitted again.
The patients can regain sensation in the reinnervated area.
The patients can regain their ability to move.
The patients can regain their ability to feel.
Stimpod therapy is included without additional charge when required during our flagship disc herniation program
