Dr. Dimitris

Dimitris was born and raised in Patras, Greece. Growing up, he and his twin brother had a desire to work together as health care practitioners, in order to help people overcome pain and disability, but they weren’t sure which profession to choose.

One day they learnt that their uncle had finally overcome his persistent issue with his low back after seeing a chiropractor. Dimitris was impressed, because his uncle had seen many different practitioners (including medical doctors and physiotherapists) without experiencing relief. At the advice of their father, Dimitris and his twin brother started looking into Chiropractic. They were amazed to find out the unique approach that Chiropractic has in addressing musculoskeletal conditions by influencing the nervous system, and how chiropractors always look at the root cause of a problem.

Dimitris and his brother studied in the Welsh Institute of Chiropractic, located in the South Wales Valleys, around half an hour away from Cardiff. After finishing his studies, Dimitris worked in Aylesbury and Peterborough, before moving to Surbiton. One reason for moving here was because his brother was living in Kingston with his family. In addition, a very important reason was to work under Dr David Brown DC.

By that time in his career, Dimitris had realised that disc problems and sciatica are amongst the main reasons that people with severe pain and disability visit chiropractors, and that traditional chiropractic approaches, often did not have favourable outcomes. Therefore, it seemed that many chiropractors who treat disc problems and sciatica either needed to lose their Chiropractic ‘’identity’’ or stop approaching such issues from a Chiropractic point of view, using a more defensive passive approach.

However, Dr David Brown had developed a groundbreaking programme, where he and his team were able to address the most difficult disc and sciatica cases efficiently, while still having a chiropractic mindset. Dimitris was impressed to see how successful this programme was and decided to join the DISC Chiropractors.

Dimitris has been working at DISC for 5 years now, which has enabled him to vastly increase his knowledge on disc problems and trapped nerves. In these 5 years, Dr David has been polishing his successful programme for disc injuries and sciatica, adding new advanced technologies and creating new systems. Dimitris is very grateful for being part of a team that explores and creates new innovative methods in helping people with severe pain and disability go back to normal and achieve optimal health.

In his spare time, Dimitris enjoys spending time with his twin brother and his family, especially his two young nephews (they are 3 and 1 years old currently). In addition, Dimitris loves traveling. He has been to over 30 countries, and his favourite destination is the Cyclades, in his native Greece.

One of his goals is to visit all the 33 islands and islets in this amazing island group in the Aegean Sea. So far he has visited 7 of them (Syros, Mykonos, Tinos, Paros, Antiparos, Kimolos and Delos) so he still has a long way to go.

Our Technology

A major factor in our clinics success with Advanced Back Injuries is our ability to use the multitude of equipment which we have available in our Surbiton Clinic. Often it is the combination of our technology that proves to be key in unlocking these tough cases.

Alongside Traditional Chiropractic Care, DISC clinicians can call upon Spinal Decompression Therapy (to traction Disc Injuries and Trapped Nerves), Instrument Assisted Adjusting (for a more gentle mobilisation effect) & Laser Therapy (to reduce Inflammation). These constitute the four pillars for our tried and tested protocols.
