Pressure-Wave Therapy

Pressure-Wave Therapy is one of the newer protocols we have introduced to expand beyond the limits of traditional chiropractic spinal care plans, focusing on how tension in the peripheral nervous system can affect the body. This acoustic shockwave treatment is particularly valuable for chronic or resistant cases where old scar tissue or adhesions have formed and continue to restrict movement between muscle and nerve tissue or joints, such as the shoulders and hips.

By sending focused acoustic shockwaves into the affected tissues, it stimulates circulation, breaks down scar tissue, and encourages cellular regeneration. The technology has been around for a while but seems to have gotten restricted to a physiotherapy-based approach to tendinopathies such as tennis elbow or plantar fasciitis. However, this technology can be moderated and used safely throughout most of the body—not only for tendons but also to address fascial adhesions, peripheral nerve entrapments and deep muscular restrictions—helping patients unlock progress where other methods may have stalled.

Pressure-wave therapy has a strong reputation for being highly successful, but it can also be somewhat uncomfortable in its traditional application. Historically, it was limited to treating tendinopathies where higher intensities were needed. As our protocols have evolved, we now integrate chiropractic and adhesion release methodologies to apply this equipment in more moderate, patient-friendly settings. This enables us to significantly reduce discomfort while maintaining the high success rates associated with the therapy. By using it this way, we can safely extend its benefits beyond tendon cases to address scar tissue, fascial adhesions, and nerve‑related restrictions throughout the body.
